GARY | A Gary man died after being shot twice Saturday afternoon, police said.
Terrel Smith was shot around 1:10 p.m near the corner of Second Avenue and Rutledge Street, Cpl. Gabrielle King said.
Smith, 25, succumbed to his wounds at the Methodist Hospitals Northlake Campus around 4:12 p.m., according to the Lake County coroner's office.
Police described the man who shot Smith as a black male who stands about 5 feet 11 inches tall and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white shirt underneath, King said.
A motive was unclear Sunday, she said.
