GARY | A Gary woman told police she returned home from an errand Wednesday morning to find her husband dead in what investigators have ruled a homicide.
Thomas Mallory, 39, of the 5600 block of West 37th Avenue, was pronounced dead at his home at 9 a.m., according to a news release from the Lake County coroner's office.
The cause of death was listed as a single gunshot wound to the neck. The death has been ruled a homicide.
According to Cpl. Gabrielle King, at 7:42 a.m., police responded to a home in the 5600 block of West 37th Avenue for a call of a man down. When officers arrived, the homeowner told them she went to the grocery store and when she came home, found her husband bleeding and unresponsive.
