GARY | A 19-year-old Gary man was pronounced dead early Saturday after being shot in the chest, officials said.

Antoine Taylor, of the 400 block of Grant Street, was pronounced dead at the Methodist Hospitals Northlake Campus at 5:32 a.m., according to the Lake County coroner's office.

The cause of death was listed as a gunshot wound to the chest suffered in an apparent homicide.

Coroner's office representatives said the location of the shooting was not known.

Gary police officials were not available for comment Saturday morning.
