Gary man shot outside gas station
GARY | A 20-year-old Gary man told police he was accidentally shot in the right thigh Tuesday morning during a transaction outside a gas station.
Police said the man met someone he knows only as "X" outside a gas station at 4:30 a.m. at Fifth Avenue and Marshall Street for a transaction. The victim said he and "X" were sitting in a car when a gun went off. When he got out of the car, he noticed he was shot in the upper right leg.
A friend drove the man to Methodist Hospital Northlake Campus in Gary, where he spoke with police.
