GARY | An 18-year-old man is facing a slate of charges after he was found smoking marijuana in the boys restroom of the Gary Career Center, police said.
A security officer on duty about 1:20 p.m. Thursday smelled marijuana smoke coming from the restroom, Gary police Cpl. Gabrielle King said. The officer confronted DAngelo Taylor, 18, after Taylor left the restroom, King said. He also had a gun in his book bag, King said.
Taylor was arrested on charges of having a gun without a permit, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, having a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school and having marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, King said.
