HAMMOND | A Gary woman agreed in U.S. District Court on Thursday to plead guilty to one count of embezzling an undisclosed amount of funds from Painter’s District Council 91.

Tracey Tigner, 42, faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, including restitution to the labor union, court records stated. The theft of the money occurred between August 2009 and December 2011.

District Council 91, which has an office in Merrillville, covers Indiana, central Kentucky and a portion of Tennessee.
