GARY | Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson joined Ann Kalayil, Regional Administrator of the General Services Administration’s (GSA) Great Lakes Region and Cassandra Cruz, Grissom Elementary School Principal to unveil the laptops that were donated by the federal agency. Grissom secured the laptops after successfully applying to GSA’s Computers in Learning Program.
“We thank GSA for developing a program that will benefit our youth in the area of technology,” said Freeman-Wilson. “They are our future leaders and need access to these tools as early as possible. I also applaud Principal Cruz for going after these opportunities on behalf of Grissom students.”
The General Services Administration donated a total of 57 laptops that will be used in various classrooms throughout the school. The laptops are being programmed with software that coincides with grade levels K-5.
Kalayil shared information about the Computers in Learning Program and commended the Mayor for continuing to partner with federal agencies to identify benefits for Gary residents.
