GARY | Habitat for Humanity is in the final stages of completing its model home on property adjacent to the Habitat ReStore at 6114 W. Ridge Road in Gary.
The home will provide a visual of an actual Habitat home for potential partner families while serving as the administrative offices for the nonprofit. Moving the administrative offices to the new facility will offer 700 additional square feet for the ReStore to use.
M&M Roofing, headquartered in Crete, has donated its time and materials to the home project.
Habitat welcomes all volunteers and needs skilled painters, carpenters and licensed contractors who are willing to donate their time and/or materials. To volunteer on this or future projects, contact construction manager Scott Cearing at (219) 923-7265 between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
The model home is expected to be completed the first week of February.
ReStore sales contribute to the affiliate and its operation. ReStore carries discontinued, new and used building materials, appliances, home furnishings and more all marked at daily prices of up to 75 percent off retail.
