GARY | Indiana University Northwest’s Gallery for Contemporary Art announces its most recent exhibit, “Pinpoint,” which will be on display from August 26 to September 20.
An artists’ reception is planned for 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17 in the gallery, located in the Savannah Center neighboring the IU Northwest Book Store.
First time curator Holly Sabin Houston is a young artist from the Perimeter Gallery in Chicago. For this exhibit, she has assembled a group of artists with various and complementary styles.
The artists include Jennifer Hines, Brent Houston, Raul Mendez, Cole Pierce, and Morgan Sims. Their pieces are a mixed complementary collection of drawings, oil paintings, a neon piece and mixed media pieces.
The IU Northwest Gallery for Contemporary Art is open to the public Monday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The mission of the IU Northwest Gallery for Contemporary Art is to present an innovative exhibition program that complements and enhances the university’s academic offerings. Exhibit art collections are for study and research, and are also meant to educate the university community and general public about the forms and issues of contemporary and historic art from all cultures.
