GARY | Indiana University Northwest’s School of Nursing is hosting a free seminar especially for youths 8 to 15.
“Eeze the Wheeze” Day is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 25. The day’s events begin at 8:30 a.m. at the registration table in the Nursing Lab, located on the first floor of the Dunes Medical/Professional Building, 3400 Broadway.

Participants will learn techniques to better control asthma and create an asthma action plan.
Between 9:30 a.m. and noon, participants may visit education stations led by IUN nursing students, on such topics as What is Asthma? Asthma Symptoms, Asthma Triggers, Asthma Medications, and Controlling Asthma.
A free lunch is provided from noon to 1 p.m.
From 1 to 2 p.m., attendees may visit education stations to learn about assessment tools, including peak flow meters, spacers and the Asthma Control Test (ACT).
At 2:15 p.m., attendees will be directed to presentations either in Raintree Hall, Room 102, or on the campus lawn, depending on the weather.
The event will close at 3 p.m. with certificates awarded to attendees.
