GARY| "The Dream Continues," a program, remembering Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech 50 years later, will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Marshall J. Gardner Center for the Arts, 540 S. Lake St.

Sponsored by the Miller Beach Arts and Creative District, the event is free and open to the public.

On display will be a dozen photographs taken by Camilo Jose Vergara of murals depicting Dr. King. Vergara is an award-winning documentary photographer whose "The Dream Continues" project "is a poster show or my photographs of popular, transitory murals depicting Martin Luther King Jr. that I encountered when documenting the inner city over a period of 40 years," according to Vergara in a news release.

After introductory remarks by Indiana University Northwest Professor James B. Lane, and an examination of the murals, a screening will be held of the Eyes of the Prize episode "No Easy Walk," pertaining to the 1963 March on Washington and Dr. King's "I Have A Dream" speech.
