GARY | The Lake Ridge Schools business manager James Huddleston has resigned, school officials announced Friday.
Huddleston informed the school Wednesday night he was having personal financial problems.
School officials and Huddleston met Thursday morning and reviewed pending obligations he was handling so that matters of the school corporation could continue without interruption.
School officials also have reached out to Education Services Corp. to begin the process of reviewing the business matters of the district.
That process includes developing a budget for the 2013-14 school year.
There is much work that goes into the development of a budget that must be approved in August, school officials said in a news release.
Given current projections and reports, Education Services Corp. will begin an immediate review of internal data and further assist in this process, school officials said.
Neither Huddleston nor Superintendent Sharon Johnson-Shirley could be reached for comment.
