GARY | An 18-year-old man was arrested Friday after allowing a 14-year-old to drive a vehicle that ended up hitting a residence in the 2100 block of Williams Street, Gary police said.

David Kelly, 18, was teaching the 14-year-old how to drive when the teen drove the vehicle into the residence about 12:56 p.m., police said.

Two women inside the residence at the time of the crash were uninjured, police said.

Kelly is facing a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and was cited for a traffic violation, police said.
