GARY | A 34-year-old man was shot and wounded in the 300 block of North Grand Boulevard Wednesday night.
Police said officers were called to the area around 11:22 p.m., where they discovered the victim lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. The man was transported to an area emergency room for treatment of his injuries.
Officers were reportedly advised that a man possibly involved in the shooting was inside a fire station located across the street from the scene.
A 35-year-old man was found at the station and was taken into custody. Police said he was a person of interest and no charges have been filed as of Thursday afternoon.
