GARY | A 41-year-old man was shot in the hand Friday as he and his boss were in a parked car, Gary police said.
The two were in a car in the 300 block of South Hamilton Street about 3:50 p.m. Friday when an unknown man stuck his hand through the opened window and said something the two couldn't understand, police Cpl. Gabrielle King said. The boss hit the man's hand when she saw it come through the window, King said.
A gun the man was holding went off, striking the employee, King said. The boss told police she didn't see the man had a gun, King said.
The boss drove her employee to the emergency room for treatment.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective James Nielsen at (219) 881-4754.
