GARY | Marquette Park will be turned into a drive-in movie theater tonight, complete with vendors selling movie snacks.

For $10 per car, guests can watch two family-oriented movies, "The Croods" and "The Tree of Life." Gates at 6918 Oak Ave. open at 6 p.m.; the first film starts at dusk.

In order to deliver the full drive-in effect, there will be vendors selling popcorn, hot dogs and elephant ears. There will also be an inflatable fun area where children can play until the movies begin.

Guests will be able to tune in to the film using car radios.

There is also an advertising opportunity for local businesses and organizations to promote their message on the screen for $500. The message will be looped in 30-second intervals for about one hour before the movie starts and during the 20 minute intermission.

The goal is to feature drive-in movie night the first Friday of each month from May to October, organizers said.
