CROWN POINT | A Michigan City man already serving 20 years for shooting at a couple on Interstate 80/94 pleaded guilty Friday to murder in the death of a Gary teen.
Aaron Windom, 27, admitted shooting Deandre Wilson, 17, early on the morning of Feb. 19, 2011.
The plea agreement calls for sentencing to be argued with a cap of 50 years in prison.
According to court documents, Wilson was shot during an argument over Windom not allowing Wilson to borrow the car he was driving. The Dodge Charger had been reported stolen during a carjacking in a Milwaukee, Wis., suburb.
Windom is alleged to have told Wilson he would shoot him in the face if he walked toward him.
Windom is alleged to have shot Wilson several times in the face and then turned the gun on Wilson's brother, who dodged the gunfire. A bullet grazed the leg of a pregnant girl standing nearby.
Windom was sentenced in May to serve 20 years after being convicted of attempted battery for shooting at a couple's car on the interstate near the Lake Station exit.
Windom's car pulled alongside the couple's car and he fired shots at the car, injuring one person.
