GARY | Indiana Parenting Institute invites you to celebrate people raising children in Northwest Indiana with us at the U.S. Steel Yard – home of the Gary South Shore RailCats – on April, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This year’s PAMI Parenting Fair is chock full of fun, games, giveaways, and contests for both parents and children. There are also community family services providers available with information and help on how to access needed family resources in the Region during these tough economic times. In addition, Q&A stations will be set up for parents to “talk with a professional expert” to get answers to specific parenting issues such as Bullying and Youth Violence, College Readiness, Job Success and Money.
Darryll King of the King’s Highway Morning Show (WYCA 102.3 FM) will be back with her live remote broadcast, as well as the addition of performances by the Army of the Lord Drill Team and a Zumba presentation. And you never know who else may show up to say hello. Make sure you check out all the fun, carnival-esque stations, like Imagination Station, Teen Central, Spa la Fam, Artists’ Corner, and Family Idol. There’s even a Scavenger Hunt for the parents, leading to some great prizes!
The PAMI Parenting Fair is free, fun and open to the community. Come out and join the Region in celebrating parenting and family togetherness!
About Parenting Awareness Month Indiana
PAMI, an IPI public awareness initiative, is a month-long celebration of people raising children in communities throughout Indiana. It occurs annually in the month of April.
Throughout April, attention is called to the need for effective and responsible parenting education that advances the well-being of children, and that guides them towards achieving their fullest potential, via celebrations of parenting and via workshops on current parenting issues and challenges conducted throughout the Region at community-based and faith-based organizations.
For more information, contact Rosemarie at the IPI at (219) 886-1111 or visit indianaparentinginstitute.org/pami.
