More than 10,000 players from bridge clubs throughout the world all played identical hands in June for a Worldwide Bridge Contest, with clubs in Venezuela, India, Italy, Botswana and Japan placing in the top ten.
The pair from Northwest Indiana that placed highest with an overall percentage of 60.50 percent is Howard Schmid, of Merrillville, and Lou Nimnicht, of Crown Point.
The following listing recognizes some of the most accomplished players for the month of May from the three duplicate bridge games played weekly in Highland and Calumet Township. Yuan Hsu, a "C" player, topped the list with 10.90 master points.
