GARY | A Gary woman was critically injured Saturday night after she was ejected from a vehicle on Interstate 65 near the 15th Avenue exit, police said.

Jennelle P. Taylor, 27, was taken to Methodist Hospitals Northlake Campus in Gary with life-threatening injuries, Indiana State police said.

Taylor was driving south on I-65 in a 1998 Honda Accord at 9:55 p.m. when she drove off the right shoulder for unknown reasons and overcorrected, according to a release from Indiana State Police. She drove across the southbound lanes and went into the median, causing the vehicle to roll four to five times.

Troopers said Taylor was not wearing a seat belt, and she was ejected from the vehicle. She was the only person in the car.

Indiana State Police said alcohol was suspected to be a factor in the crash.
