GARY | Lake County police took a Gary man into custody Thursday on a warrant after crack cocaine, a stolen shotgun and a bulletproof vest were taken from a residence in the 2200 block of Taney Street.
Markese Scott, 35, of Gary, faces charges of dealing cocaine, felony possession, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana and resisting law enforcement, according to a release from the Lake County Sheriff's Department.
Three handguns and a stolen vehicle also were recovered from the residence, according to county police.
The Lake County Drug Task Force and Lake County Tactical Unit executed the search warrant after a tip came into the sheriff's hotline telephone number.
