GARY | Police are looking for a 34-year-old Gary man and his 30-year-old ex-girlfriend accused of beating and stabbing the man's current girlfriend.
The victim, a 37-year-old woman, told police she and her boyfriend got into an argument early Wednesday at his house in the 2500 block of Maryland Street, Gary police Cpl. Gabrielle King said. The boyfriend then threatened to call his ex-girlfriend over to beat up the woman, police said.
When the ex arrived, she charged the woman, police said. The two fought, and the man pulled them apart before attacking the victim himself, police said.
The ex then started stabbing the woman in the leg and head, police said. The woman got free and ran to her car, which the ex then shot at several times, police said.
The woman flagged down a Gary police officer about 2:30 a.m. to notify him of what happened. The two suspects were still at large as of Wednesday afternoon.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Detective Alex Jones at (219) 881-7477.
