GARY | Two men were killed in separate shootings Thursday in Gary, authorities said.
Alvis Moore, 20, of Gary, was shot multiple times about 3:35 p.m. in the parking lot of a McDonald's at Fifth Avenue and Grant Street, authorities said.
About 13 hours earlier and 1.8 miles away, Clifton Morrow Jr., 34, of Gary, was found slumped over in the driver's seat of his car about 2:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Taney Street, authorities said.
In the homicide outside McDonald's, police responding to a call of shots fired found an unresponsive man, Gary police spokeswoman Gabrielle King said.
Moore, of the 1200 block of West 52nd Drive, was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m., according to the Lake County coroner's office. His death was ruled a homicide.

Morrow, of the 1000 block of Chase Street, was pronounced dead at 4:06 a.m., according to the coroner's office. Morrow died as the result of a gunshot wound and his death has been ruled a homicide, the coroner's office said.
At 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a man down inside a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found Morrow unresponsive, police said. His car had fresh front-end damage.
Witnesses told police they heard shots fired in the 1000 block of Taney Street followed by a vehicle crashing into bushes in the 900 block of Taney Street, police said.
Morrow was charged with attempted murder in Gary in 2005 and found not guilty by a jury. He was out on bond for a recent charge of resisting law enforcement, a Class D felony, and his next court appearance had been set for May 19.
