Police: Woman crashed into cars, tree trying to hit group

GARY | A 29-year-old woman crashed into two cars and a tree early Monday while trying to run over a group of people, Gary police said.

Kennette J. Dabney, 29, tried to run over a group of people standing outside in the 3800 block of Tennessee Street in Gary about 3 a.m. Monday, police Cpl. Gabrielle King said. After Dabney crashed the vehicle into two cars and a tree, she ran and tried to hide, King said.

After Dabney was found and treated at the scene for injuries, police arrested her on charges of criminal recklessness, mischief and driving with a suspended license, King said.
