CROWN POINT | Lake County prosecutors on Monday charged a Portage man with multiple sex offenses, including the rape of a young teen girl.
William West, 43, is facing nine felony counts in Lake Superior Court in the alleged sexual assault of two local teens.
According to a probable cause affidavit, West, then living in Gary, gave one of the girls alcohol in March before kissing her and asking her about oral sex.
About the same time, the second girl told her mother West began to have sexual relations with her, the affidavit states.
West is alleged to have forced the girl into a "blood pact," in which she was forbidden to tell anyone what happened to her, the affidavit states.
The girl told police West threatened to kill her and her mother if her mother found out, according to the affidavit.
West faces charges of rape, criminal deviate conduct, sexual misconduct with a minor, incest and sexual battery.
