GARY | Indiana State police are investigating a shooting early Saturday on the Borman Expressway that has left one person wounded.
Sgt. Kim Riley, a spokesman for the state police, said Saturday morning that troopers were still looking for the gunman, who remains at large.
Trooper Chris Campione said the incident took place at 3:02 a.m. while the victim's car, which held four occupants, was heading west on Interstate 80/94 near Grant Street.
Campione said a dark vehicle pulled up alongside and someone fired multiple rounds that penetrated the victim's vehicle.
State police are not identifying the shooting victim at this time, Riley said, because the investigation is still ongoing.
Police said that person was transported by ambulance to the Methodist Hospitals Northlake Campus in Gary for treatment. The person's medical condition wasn't available Saturday.
