It helps parents get their children current with immunizations and allow students to receive regular and sports physicals, dental screenings and more. NWI House Raffle winner

Rotary, chamber corn roast

ST. JOHN | The Tri-Town Rotary/ St. John Chamber of Commerce annual corn roast is from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Community Outpatient Centre, 9660 Wicker Ave., St. John. Discounted tickets on sale at all St. John banks. Fish fry for tornado victims

MUNSTER | Ridge United Methodist Church hosts a fish fry to help Oklahoma tornado victims from 4 to 7 p.m at the church, 8607 Columbia Ave. The menu includes fried perch, baked potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, and homemade desserts. Tickets are $10 for adults and $4 for children, and can be purchased in the church office or at the door.

Dance Alliance free shows

GRIFFITH | The South Shore Dance Alliances does a free performance today and Saturday as its summer intensive students show what they've accomplished this summer. Shows are at 7 p.m. tonight and 3 p.m. Saturday at Franklin Center, 201 N. EAST CHICAGO | Community HealthNet's Covering Kids & Families is partnering with School City of East Chicago to host the New Year, New Beginning Back to School Rally & Health Fair from noon to 4 p.m. at East Chicago Central High School, 1100 W. Columbus Drive.

HAMMOND | The annual Tribute to the Beatles is from 4 to 10 p.m. in downtown Hammond. There are several outdoor musicl acts throughout the day. There are food tents, a beer and margarita garden and Beatles movies will be projected onto the sides of the downtown buildings.


Ballet Theatre dance contest

MERRILLVILLE | Indiana Ballet Theatre hosts a dance competition all day long at the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza as a fundraiser to renovate the historic Crown Point building that will be The Classical Arts Centre.
