GARY | Three people have been charged in connection with the burglary of a home in the 2600 block of Waverly Drive in which two TVs and other electronic equipment were taken Feb. 24.

Charged on Friday in Lake Superior Court with burglary, intimidation, residential entry and theft were Brittany Nycole Alexander, 18, Marquel Lamar Crook, 20, and Marcus Allen Jernigan, 20, all of Gary.

The burglary occurred around noon while the homeowner was at church. A neighbor saw the suspects and called police, who arrived but couldn't find anyone. Police were able to track one of the suspects by following footprints in the snow to another home on the same block. That eventually led to the charges.

Taken were a 32-inch and a 20-inch TV, a Nexus tablet, Nintendo Wii, a digital camera and an iPad. The intimidation charge resulted from Jernigan allegedly waving a gun at another neighbor, who also witnessed the burglary.
