GARY | Tickets are expected to go quickly for an event to honor veterans of World War II.

Celebrating Our Greatest Generation, a luncheon and afternoon of entertainment, will be from 1 to 4 p.m. June 8 at the banquet hall at Lake Etta County Park.

The veterans previously had been honored annually at Buckley Homestead County Park during a weekend of re-enactments.

To reserve tickets for the Lake Etta event, which includes patriotic music by String of Pearls and an address from Franklin D. Roosevelt interpreter R.J Lindsey, call (219) 769-7275 or stop in the Lake County Parks' corporate offices at 8411 E. Lincoln Highway, Hobart. Tickets are $5.

Tickets for the WWII veterans and the entertainment have been funded by the Morrow Family Foundation.
