GARY | Two Gary men faces weapon and drug charges after police said they found a gun and an undisclosed amount of cannabis and ecstasy pills during a traffic stop in the 3700 block of Van Buren Street around 9:30 p.m. Thursday.
According to reports, police observed a white 2005 Buick traveling south on Jackson Street turn onto 37th Avenue without using a turn signal.
Police said a gun reported stolen in Indianapolis in 2007 was found during the stop. The two men, identified as 23-year-old Kerry Kirk and 26-year-old Dashawn D. Wright, were arrested on charges of possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
