GARY | A 51-year-old teacher was arrested at West Side Leadership Academy on Wednesday afternoon after refusing to stop yelling and using profanities, according to police.
Charles Willis faces charges of disorderly conduct and intimidation.
Police working security at the school said they learned of a disturbance between two teachers at 4:30 p.m.
Officers found Willis yelling at another teacher and using profanities, police said. The officers repeatedly asked Willis to quiet down and leave the building as a crowd was gathering, but he refused, police said. He was placed under arrest.
Gary Community School Corp. spokeswoman Charmella Greer said Thursday afternoon that she could not comment because the case is a personnel issue.
