GARY | A one-vehicle crash about 3 p.m Saturday on Cline Avenue sent one person to the hospital and backed up traffic for about an hour.
Larry Rickman, 24, of Whiting, was driving north in a white 2002 Pontiac Grand Am when one of his tires blew out and he hit the center concrete barrier, according to Lake County sheriff's police. The accident occurred about one-quarter mile before the Indiana Toll Road exit.
Rickman complained of pain in his rib cage and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
