GARY | A 35-year-old and a 22-year-old are recovering from injuries after being shot Sunday night by three men who asked for money, police said.
Shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday, the two men were walking west on Fourth Avenue approaching Polk Street when they saw three men walking across the street from them, Gary police Cpl. Gabrielle King said.
The three men, described as black and wearing all black clothing, crossed the street and approached them, King said. One of the victims was asked if he had any money, he later told police. After he said he didn't, the three men started shooting, King said.
