GARY | A 72-year-old Gary man told police three masked men with guns forced their way into his home and stole items before fleeing Wednesday night.
A boy knocked on the man's door in the 2300 block of Central Avenue at 7:10 p.m. and asked to speak to his 15-year-old nephew, police said. The man let the boy in and shortly thereafter, three men wearing masks and carrying guns came into the home, ordered the man, his nephew and the other boy on the ground and demanded money.
Police said the man was struck in the head during the crime and was later treated for a cut.
The three men ransacked the house and stole various items and cash before fleeing in an unknown direction, police said.
