GARY | A jogger was taken to a Chicago-area hospital Monday night after a hit-and-run in the 300 block of West 30th Avenue, police said.
Gary police are looking for the driver who struck the 18-year-old jogger about 8 p.m.
The 18-year-old said he was jogging in the street when he was struck by what he described as an older model SUV that fled the scene, police said.
The jogger initially was taken to a local hospital but was later moved to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to call Gary police Cpl. Agnes Roberts at (219) 881-1217.
