GARY | An 18-year-old Gary man was shot in the foot Thursday night by a person who called his name first, police said.
The man, who lives in the 4400 block of East Seventh Avenue, told police he was walking from West 43rd Avenue and Washington Street to West 42nd Avenue and Madison Street in the Glen Park area shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday, Gary police Cpl. Gabrielle King said.
The man said a person he didn't know called his name and started shooting, King said. He ran to a house in the 4200 block of Madison Street, where help was called, King said.
