GARY | Attention all young hoops players.

The next Share the Rock basketball camp will be held  Saturday at the Hudson Campbell Sports Center, 455 Massachusetts St.

Share The Rock basketball camp is a nonprofit basketball camp that relies completely on volunteer services and community sponsorship. Share the Rock offers multiple dates during the year throughout Northwest Indiana.

Founder Dan Voudrine, men’s basketball coach at Purdue University Calumet, had to re-schedule the Gary camp originally planned for spring, but said, "We are expecting another great turnout in June.”

A one-day clinic for youths in grades 3 to 8, the camp is offered free of charge, allowing kids to have the opportunity to learn basketball fundamentals from experienced coaches.

Voudrine advises parents to sign their kids up quickly, since only 120 spots are available. The previous camp in August was filled to capacity.

All participants will receive lunch, a backpack and a T-shirt. To register, visit
