GRIFFITH | The January Adlerstrong Birthday Walk raised $8,200 for brain tumor research at Riley’s Children’s Hospital.
Stephanie Shelbourne said pop top tabs were collected for the Ronald McDonald House in Indianapolis and baked items were donated for families staying there. A Red Cross blood drive also was held.
The Adlerstrong Birthday Walk honored 3-year-old Adler Bryce Shelbourne, who battled cancer until his death Sept. 10.
“We hope to make the Adlerstrong Walk an annual event and continue to donate the money raised back to Riley for brain tumor research,” Shelbourne said.
“Riley helped Adler as much as they could and we want to make a difference in Adler’s honor," she said. "We want other children to have better chances for survival."
