GRIFFITH | Six Griffith High School students were sent to the school nurse's office Friday after taking too many cold pills, Griffith police said.
The school resource officer and school officials handled the situation, Griffith Detective Lt. Matt Argadine said.
The students were later released to their parents.
Jeannette Bapst, assistant to Griffith Public Schools Superintendent Peter Morikis, declined comment. A phone message left for Griffith High School Principal Bill Cope on Monday was not immediately returned.
Argadine said one of the students was acting lethargic and another vomited. The school resource officer reported he was advised that a student had passed out in a bathroom, according to a report provided by Griffith police.
