GRIFFITH | The Griffith Fire Department will support the Hoosier Burn Camp with its annual boot drive fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Griffith firefighters will be posted at intersections throughout Griffith in support of this worthwhile cause. In the event of inclement weather, the boot drive will move to May 17. Each year thousands of children suffer life changing burn injuries resulting in painful medical treatments, lifelong scars, and emotional trauma. The Hoosier Burn Camp offers an environment where youths 8 to 18 can experience a lifechanging summer camp complete with a volunteer medical staff to ensure all medical needs are met, all at no cost to the families. "Your generous donations allow the HBC to continue providing this wonderful experience," Griffith Deputy Fire Chief Don Hill said.
