GRIFFITH | Griffith residents asking what happened in the Indiana Senate to the Calumet Township secession bill are invited to attend the Town Council's meeting Tuesday evening.
"We have been receiving a lot of emails and calls regarding the latest turn of events," said Council Vice President Rick Ryfa, R-3rd.
The bill, HB-1585, has already passed the Indiana House of Representatives but stalled last week during a Senate committee hearing.
"The Town Council will provide updates on current legislation involving the Griffith-Calumet Township issue," Ryfa said Monday evening.
He added that residents will get to ask questions and offer their opinions.
"This would be a great opportunity for those concerns to be heard."
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in Town Hall.
