HAMMOND | A Griffith man has been sentenced to about 10 years in federal prison for possessing and distributing at least 500 grams of methamphetamine.
Gregorial Valencia, 29, who was sentenced to 121 months in federal prison Thursday, filed an agreement with federal prosecutors in November, admitting to the crime.
Under the plea agreement, Valencia agreed to cooperate with federal agents in other investigations. He also agreed to forfeit his Toyota minivan to the federal government.
Federal authorities charged Valencia in May after seizing quantities of the drug from his Griffith residence on Colfax Street, Hammond federal court records state.
Valencia also will be required to serve two years on supervised release after his prison sentence.
