GRIFFITH | The Lake County Parks and Recreation Department will host an afternoon of CSRI Wheelchair Accessible Hayrides for families with special needs from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Oak Ridge Prairie County Park, 301 S. Colfax St.

The fee is $3 per person and there is a limit of 80 people. Registration is required by 2 p.m. today by calling (219) 769-7275.

"Our specially designed handicapped-accessible hay wagon is ready to take you on a fall adventure," said Superintendent of Visitor Services Sandy Basala. "Crafts, music, games and treat bags will round out the afternoon fun."

Each ride is approximately 20 minutes long, and the hay wagon can accommodate two guests in wheelchairs and an additional 15 guests per ride.

The last ride departs at 4 p.m., or when all in attendance have had a ride. Guests with wheelchairs will be assigned their hay ride time slot during registration, while other guests will be assigned a hay ride time slot upon arrival at the park.
