CROWN POINT | A Lake Superior Court jury deliberated about nine hours Wednesday in the case against a Chicago man accused in a 2011 shooting death at The Mansards Apartments in Griffith.
The jury is expected to continue weighing the case against Lyndon Davis, 31, starting at 10:30 a.m. today.
Davis is charged with the murder of Parrish Myles, of Dolton, at the apartment complex.
Also charged was Davis' uncle, Robert E. Davis, 46, of Chicago, who was convicted in February 2012 and is serving a 65-year sentence for the slaying.
Myles had been staying in the 1800 block of Mansard Boulevard at the time of the shooting.
Police said Myles was killed to collect a bounty on his head in connection with missing money and drugs. Myles, 38, died of multiple gunshot wounds.
The shooting led to a police pursuit through three communities.
The two men fled west on Ridge Road and onto Interstate 80/94 before the pursuit ended in Highland, police said.
