GRIFFITH | The deadline for submitting nominations for Lake Area United Way's Everyday Heroes video contest has been extended.
The new deadline is 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
The contest looks to highlight significant works in the area of education, income or health. United Way invites the public to share their stories. Self-nominations are also welcome.
Video nominations must be 90 seconds in length or less.
A total of three $1,500 cash prizes will be awarded to the grand prize winners in each category, and three $500 cash prizes will be selected from remaining eligible video nominations.
The contest is sponsored by American Structurepoint, BP, Citizens Financial Bank, Latitude Commercial Real Estate Services and Lakeshore Public Television.
