GARY | Inspirational stories not only impact our lives, they change them.
TradeWinds makes it their mission to share those stories as they help disabled children and adults leave mark in the region by providing them with wonderful employment opportunities and encouragement.
The local non-profit has been provided with the opportunity to participate in Wal-Mart's Get on the Shelf online competition that could eventually put its Scrub Puppies on the store's shelves meaning jobs for hundreds, possibly thousands.
Scrub Puppies, scouring pads that do not retain food or foul odors, are known for its recycled material and provide jobs for adults with disabilities who package the product.
“If TradeWinds wins, we can provide jobs to hundreds or even thousands more adults who do not have the same advantages or access as others seeking jobs in our communities,” said Jon Gold, TradeWinds chief executive officer. "One hundred percent of Scrub Puppies proceeds are reinvested. If TradeWinds wins this competition, it will allow us to empower more children and adults with disabilities realize their full potential.
