GRIFFITH | The water boil advisory has been lifted for Griffith residents living along South Main Street.
The Department of Public Works issued a news release Wednesday night saying all water samples had tested satisfactorily.
The boil advisory was issued Sunday after a water main break disrupted service.
Town Council President Rick Ryfa said an Enbridge contractor struck the pipeline Sunday morning, causing the water main to break. As a result, 1 million gallons of water had drained from the south water tower, Ryfa said.
Griffith and private crews worked to repair the pipe. Those repairs were completed Sunday night but the order remained in effect until two separate water samples, at least 24 hours apart, were tested for any bacteria concerns.
