GRIFFITH | A 23-year-old Griffith woman crashed her car into Niko's Steak and Seafood early Sunday after apparently suffering a medical condition, police said.
The woman was traveling south on Broad Street at 12:20 a.m. when she felt dizzy and tired and either blacked out or fell asleep, she told police. She then drove her 2007 Nissan Altima off the road, striking the foyers of Niko's, 216 S. Broad Street.
Police said the woman passed field sobriety tests. She was not injured in the crash.
Police estimated the crash caused $50,000 to $100,000 of damage. Calls to Niko's were not answered Monday morning.
