With Halloween a few nights away, folks are eager to celebrate the spooky night in different ways.
Mike McDowell with Indiana Ghost Trackers is busy this time of year taking guests on a variety of ghost tours.
McDowell led two groups Saturday night — first, a pub crawl to haunted bars in Valparaiso, Hebron and Chesteron, and then a midnight ghost hunt in the old Crown Point jail.
"(The jail) is a very fabulously rich place in history and in ghost lore," McDowell said. "There have been tons of ghost sightings over the years."
In Hobart, Leslie Ramos and Bill Pepin gathered family and friends for a more festive occasion. The couple decided on a Halloween-themed wedding.
"Halloween is just everything to them," said Sandra Deavers, Ramos' maid of honor. "It's like prom."
