HAMMOND | A Hammond man was sentenced Tuesday in federal court to 225 months behind bars on a child pornography charge.

Adam William Buckler was arrested in November 2011 after admitting to federal officers he took part in viewing and storing child pornography on his computer and an external hard drive, court records state.

When officials executed a search warrant at the residence Oct. 27, 2011, and asked Buckler if he knew why they were there, he told them, "because of what I do on the Internet," according to the records.

He led officials to his computer and hard drive under his bed, where they found more than 1,000 images and more than 100 videos of children — including one child younger than 2 — engaging in sexual activities, documents state.

When released from prison, Buckler will be placed on supervised release for 20 years, according to the court.
